FINE IVORY HOUND HEAD CANE - Cowan's Auctions

A very nice silver cane with an inlaid blue cabochon. The highly decorated silver handle is 3 1/4" high and 1 1/4" at its widest. It is elaborately fashioned in leaves, dots, and thin roping, and there is a 1/3" pale blue cabochon inlaid on the top. It is mounted on a shaft of macassar ebony with a 1 7/8" horn ferrule. The overall length is 41 3/4" and the condition is very good. Although the handle is unmarked, it is probably Continental, ca 1900

A beautiful silver cane with MOP panels. The cylindrical silver handle is 2 1/4" high and 7/8" in diameter. The sides are finely decorated in a floral bough done in repousee above eight 3/4" panels of mother-of-pearl. The base is marked "Sterling". The shaft is brown hardwood with a highlighting band of silver four inches below the handle, also marked "Sterling". It terminates with a 7/8" brass ferrule. It is American, ca 1900,
