My beautiful French speaking friends (from America) who told me the story of Mademoiselle and the French Prime Minister. The French Prime Minister's office did not remove the word Mademoiselle from the dictionary, they simply removed Mademoiselle as an option on goverment forms. This means that Madame covers both married and unmarried women on government documents. To everyone else enjoy the one free French lesson. Monsieur = Mr. / Madame = Ms.
