The Hubble Space Telescope has taken a new photo of one of its most iconic vistas, the Eagle Nebula's Pillars of Creation. (NASA/ESA/Hubble Heritage Team)

The Pillars of Creation, from a Hubble Image January This is in the Eagle Nebula, light years from Earth. These are clouds of interstellar gas and dust that continue to create new stars.

Located some 1300 light-years away in the constellation of Carina (The Keel of the ship Argo). It is informally known as the Wishing Well Cluster, as it resembles scattered silver coins which have been dropped into a well, It was the first target to be observed by the NASA/ESA Hubble Telescope. (May 1990) The stars that with moderate masses are still shining brightly with blue-white colors, but the more massive ones have already exhausted their supplies of hydrogen becoming red giant stars.

Veil Nebula Supernova Remnant“via NASA Hubble Space Telescope has unveiled in stunning detail a small section of the expanding remains of a massive star that exploded about years ago.

Nebulous Strings in the Veil Nebula. This image shows a small portion of the Veil Nebula - the shattered remains of a supernova that exploded thousands of years ago. The Veil Nebula is located in the Constellation Cygnus about 1,500 light-years away. The entire structure spans about 3 degrees on the sky (about the size of 6 full moons). On a larger scale, the hot ionized gas that makes up this nebula forms a giant loop that is more than 100 light-years across. Credit: NASA/Hubble

The Active Galactic Core of Galaxy NGC 1433 This detailed view shows the central parts of the nearby active galaxy NGC 1433. The dim blue background image, showing the central dust lanes of this galaxy, comes from the NASA/ESA Hubble Space Telescope. The coloured structures near the centre are from recent ALMA observations that have revealed a spiral shape, as well as an unexpected outflow, for the first time.
