This is Norman McLaren a Scotsman that is well known for his work for drawing on film. The technique for drawing on film is that you have a roll of film set out flat for you to draw upon. Commonly associated with 'making animation without a camera'. The technique is genuinely very simple because you can't be too complex with film as the frames are small, although many children took upon the technique and used continues lined drawings.
