Black Maul Willow is great for goat and rabbit fodder, to coppice for biomass wood for wood stove, basketweaving, etc.... sounds like it might be a good hedge plant.

Living willow fence...to KEEP DEE OUT of a garden, nothing beats S. purpurea hedges. Planted densely they can't get through them and they have so much salicin in the leaves they're too bitter to eat
