A beautiful image of an elegant lady from the 1800's.

An elegant young woman captured on a circa 1861 ambrotype photograph. The ambrotype was a short-lived photograph technique to where the image was developed on a glass plate.

Pinning this mostly because her collar has a nice big gap in between the front edges :-P

1850s Fourth Plate Tinted Ambrotype in Half Case Beautiful Young Lady

1850s FOURTH PLATE TINTED AMBROTYPE IN HALF CASE BEAUTIFUL YOUNG LADY

It is a nice, subtle tinting, and that dress is gorgeous. I like this girl. I believe it is a later daguerreotype than it is dated, ca. 1860.

Velvet scalloped sleeve cap trim, front closure and button forearm closure and opening. Awesome ringlets on side and cool silk necktie.
