A 2012 study on ancient cedar trees in Japan suggested that our planet was hit by a massive gamma ray burst in the century CE. Now, a new study suggests that the cause of this burst was two black holes or two neutron stars merging within our galaxy.
Kelper’s Supernova, the structure remaining after the cataclysmic explosion of a star. The supernova is named after Johannes Kepler who observed the star’s explosion in October which at the time was brighter than any other star or planet in the sky.
