Art journaling was the beginning for me, in understanding how to allow myself to be heard. First I started listening to myself, in my art journal. Then, as my voice became more familiar to myself (I had silenced my voice for years and years as a safety measure), I eventually came to know myself, know my voice, and feel confident for maybe the first time ever.
