A 1959 interior view of Old City Hall. Completed in 1894, the eight-year project cost $1.3 million, far above the original $300,000 estimate. Despite calls to tear it down in 1915, the building served as Richmond’s City Hall until the 1970s and is still used as an office building today. It is designated a National Historic Landmark.
