This Obelisk is a free made interpretation of Bernini’s Piazza della Minerva obelisk. The bronze elephant was casted by Foundry Del Giudice in 1960. The original obelisk was built in the sixth century BC in Egypt, brought to Rome by Domitian. It was later placed on a base made by Bernini. The elephant shape was chosen to commemorate the virtues of strength and intelligence, while the obelisk symbolizes the knowledge of the ancient Egyptians.
