Want to paint Realism??? • Here are some tips to try out.... 1. Always try using a reference whenever painting a still life. Look for photographs that have a good set up ( make sure you don'tvoilate copyright issue). Or you can create your own set up and start doing. • 2. Make sure the proportions and perspective of your sketch are same as that of reference. If you want to make surreal art, its important that the shape of the sketch is correct and the perspective is right. • 3. Observing Light and Shadows is really important to get a surreal art. Its the light and shadowed areas that gives any sketch a 3 dimensional look. Light tones refer to lighted areas and dark tones are used for shadowed areas.Try to identify as many tones of a single color as possible. • 4. Keep it simple on
