Masserie

Large fams, sometimes fortified, the 'masserie' (sing. 'masseria') are the most charming domestic buildings of the Salento. They've been turned into gorgeous boutique hotels or they are still inhabited by their owners. But anyways, these are a must for all those who go and enjoy Puglia.

The masseria Cervarolo is a farm with trulli houses (typical Apulian rural houses) it was built in the XVI century, on a 250 meters (about yards) hillock that dominates a large and fertile plain, just 6 km far from Ostuni village.
