The ancient seat of the ruling Visconti, the Castello Sforzesco (Sforza Castle) was later rebuilt by Francesco Sforza and is now simply know by the Milanese as “Il Castello”. Demolished and reconstructed several times from 1300 AD onward, it has served as the backdrop for numerous historic events. .
