Pannini, Giovanni Paolo: painting of the interior of the Pantheon, Rome. Probably the greatest example and best preserved of all ancient roman buildings. The columns are in the corinthian style, while the vaulted ceiling reveals a central opening, the only source of natural light, leading to the heavens.
