The Happy Show

The Happy Show is a touring exhibition by graphic designer Stefan Sagmeister. The show attempts to blur the boundaries between art and graphic design with a great mix of installations, imaginative typographical displays, and interactive artworks.

John Lewis Pop-Up Pavilion  ::  Grimshaw.  The centre of a London department store is home to a surprisingly architectural installation, where simple cardboard has been given new function after being deemed ‘garbage.’  The pop-up installation is made of cardboard tubes in varying diameters and lengths, suspended in a random pattern within a clear Perspex frame. The result is a modular wall system that frames a semi-enclosed space in John Lewis’ Oxford St. shop.

If I ever need a room partition, I will cut up cardboard tubes and do this, because it is freaking awesome. [Architects Grimshaw have completed an installation for London department store John Lewis that’s made of suspended cardboard tubes.
