Liverpool v Newcastle nostalgia, March 1997: Almost a year after an epic 4-3 encounter won late on by Stan Collymore, lightning struck twice at Anfield. The Reds stormed into a 3-0 lead through McManaman, Berger & Fowler but were stunned when the Geordies hauled themselves level in the last 20 minutes through Gillespie, Asprilla & Barton until Robbie Fowler's stoppage-time header saved Roy Evans' side's blushes. Southampton v #LFC flashback, 1982: The Reds were on the charge to win back their title after a poor first half of the season and got the perfect start when Ian Rush volleyed home early on. Mick Channon and Kevin Keegan put the Saints in front but Ronnie Whelan grabbed an equaliser and fired home the crucial winner two minutes from time. #LFC v Reading nostalgia, March 2008: Anfield was buzzing after the Reds' midweek Champions League win in the San Siro but the Royals' Marek Matejovsky punctured the mood with a long-range 5th minute opener. That was until Javier Mascherano fired in his first goal for the club from the edge of the box to level matters (pictured) and Fernando Torres grabbed the winner in the second half. #LFC v Southampton flashback, 1962: Eight years in the wilderness of the Second Division came to an end when Southampton were beaten 2-0 at a rain-soaked Anfield to clinch promotion and the league title with five games to spare. Kevin Lewis, in for the injured Ian St John, scored both goals as Bill Shankly led the club back into the top flight in only his second full season in charge.
