La Guerra 1916. Giacomo Balla (1871-1958), como los otros miembros del grupo futurista, era un convencido activo nacionalista. En 1915 el y Filippo Tommaso Marinetti fueron detenidos por participar en una demostración pidiendo a Italia unirse en la guerra, y durante este periodo Balla’s studio se convirtio en un lugar de encuentro para los artistas.

He was signatory to the Futurist Manifesto in 1910, and began designing and painting Futurist furniture, also created Futurist "antineutral" clothing.
