A well-established centre for industry and craft, the United Arab Emirate of Sharjah has a strong cultural identity and track record of investing in the arts. It was the first of the Emirates to establish a school of art and design, it has an impressive 16 museums, and in 1993, Sharjah hosted the first Middle East Biennal for the Arts.  Tasked with elevating Sharjah’s profile and promoting it as an exciting place to live, work and visit, Samar crafted a new brand identity, drawing inspiration from the iconic 1970s road sign, “Smile, you’re in Sharjah”.  The new brand identity embraces Sharjah’s warmth, while emphasising its openness, rich heritage, vibrant arts scene, industrious spirit an Identity Drawing, Identity Project, Book Titles, New Lifestyle, Brand Assets, Roger Taylor, South Bank, Cultural Identity, Road Sign
