Rani is a Water-talent fairy who debuted in Fairy Dust and the Quest for the Egg (2005). After the book, Rani had to cut off her wings. She became the only fairy in Pixie Hollow who can swim without drowning . Rani also knows how to whistle mermaid songs.

The Pixie Dust Tree is located at the heart of Pixie Hollow. It is visible from everywhere and its roots spread across the entirety of Pixie Hollow. Humidia. the gal who made the replacement water fountain instead of Rani even though Rani can do it way better then her but Humidia did it because she had wings and it wasn't fair because Rani was really looking forward to making the fountain and because she felt like she was useless without her wings she ran away and...and....URRRRRRGH!!! (if you can't already tell, i don't like her too much)

Rani is the only fairy in Pixie Hollow who does not have wings. This brave water talent gave them to save Mother Dove. But she doesn’t miss them too much. With no wings to get wet, Rani can go swimming anytime she wants, something she’s always dreamed of doing. In fact, Rani is the only fairy to have visited the mermaids’ castle under the lagoon. These days Brother Dove acts as Rani’s wings. Like most water talents, Rani cries a lot. She’s not sad she’s just very emotional.
