Location inspiration

I imagined this piece in the waning weeks of a Pennsylvania winter, when the snows were beginning to melt and the first breaths of Spring's warmth had begun to caress the land. This is the time of year when I think about new beginnings, reawakenings, and healing. For me, however, newness and promise have always mingled with uncertainty and the need for courage as I step into the unknown. There is a campsite at Þakgil and is located between Mýrdalsjökull (Mt. Katla) and Mýrdalssand. The name can be translated as "the canyon with a roof". The road to Þakgil is 14km from highway number 1 is one of the most beautiful "entrance" to a camp site that I've travelled to. The landscape is amazing around the raod as well as further away. The camp site itself will be revealed at the last turn.
