We get often get asked for techniques to create realistic and natural-looking rockwork, because the truth is, it's very hard to build. Luckily, Isaac Snyder a.k.a soccerkid6 has showcased how he creates his rockwork, providing the images pictured. Layers of slopes are positioned in various directions to show the studs as well as smooth surfaces, creating contrast and texture. This is built up progressively with various sized slopes, and finished at the top with curved slopes to round off the…

https://flic.kr/p/XurnvT | wall technique no. 13 | Did I tell you panels are useful? :P A fairly simple technique with a similar effect as the fairly common technique using 1x2 tiles held by snot-bricks. There are a few advantages however: - gaps are not as deep - more flexibility for the length of the indidual "bricks" - additional micro details by using cheese slopes - more partsconsuming, though :/ Hope you like it, feel free to use Lego Hacks, Cool Lego Ideas, Lego Building Techniques, Lego Moc Ideas, Lego Build Ideas, Lego Building Ideas, Lego Furniture, Lego Techniques, Lego Medieval

Today we will be looking at using 1x2 slopes to create a range of shapes that are hard to achieve with other pieces.Unfortunately, it's not as easy as just using a slope and it's inverted form; as you can see from the picture it doesn't work like that.Instead, we have to turn to SNOT (Studs Not On Top) techniques, and use various SNOT bricks to achieve the desired shapes. The builder Sheo made a great post on Flickr showing how headlight and 1x1 SNOT bricks can be used to perfectly align 1x2…
