I cord

Discover how to add a unique touch to your knitting projects with I-cord. Explore innovative ideas and techniques to incorporate I-cord into your designs and take your knitting to the next level.
Have you ever tried to crochet a really tiny tube or cylinder? I find that single crocheting in a ring with 5 stitches is challenging enough; let alone trying to make a 4-sc cylinder, or, almost impossibly, a 3-sc tube. Knitters are lucky; they have a great way to make a very fine tube – it’s called an i-cord and it’s really easy to knit up on dpns (if you knit). But I have great news for you: you can also make i-cord using your crochet hook #crochet #urbakicrochet #crochetstitches #crocheticord Crochet, Amigurumi Patterns, Crochet Hooks, Crochet I Cord, Diy Crochet Hook, Crochet Chain Stitch, Crochet Rope, Crochet Techniques, Crochet Stitches Patterns

The Knotty Boss - Anna Leyzina on Instagram: "Happy #JustATipTuesday - Today we’re crocheting a traditional i-cord.
There are many different tools and gadgets out there to help you make an i-cord. But if you’re like me, and don’t have any of them you can simply use your crochet hook!
This is a very versatile cord that can be used for decorative loops, straps, and even bag handles. Because this cord is hollow on the inside, you can insert a wire and shape it into different things... works great for making flower stems!

For a slightly thicker cord you can make this cord with 4 or even 5 loops, instead of 3.

If you have not tried this, give it a go!

Laura Nelkin (aka Lola!) on Instagram: "Two weeks ago, I posted asking about a 3-stitch I Cord maker I had found... and now two of you are making them! That was fast!!!! 🔥The blue version by @sizeinclusivecollective is 3-d printed, uses larger latch hooks, and makes a lovely icord with a looser tension! It's squishy! 🔥The orange version by @cranky_spinster has a hand turned handle and fine gauge sock hooks and makes an I-Cord that is tighter and tidier. ❤️ them both!!! In full disclosure: @cranky_spinster sent me her tool to try as she is working on the design before going into production. I purchased the one I'm using from @sizeinclusivecollective . p.s. I think i figured out how to incorporate beads... that's for a future reel! #knittingtools #knittingtips #knittingteacher" Knitting, Knitting Projects, Crochet, Cable, Instagram, Design, Knitting Tools, Finger Crochet, Hook

An I-Cord is a crochet or knit tube that is made up of a few stitches worked in a continuous round. Crocheting an I-Cord is very easy and can be used for a variety of purposes. It is also possible to vary the number of stitches to adjust the thickness of the cord. This tutorial contains a photo tutorial for crocheting a 3 stitch I-Cord. It also includes a video tutorial for crocheting a 3 stitch and a 4 stitch I-Cord.
