Bob and Nancy Lohman on Instagram: "If you want beautiful, bouncy, cloud-like blooms like these this year then follow my Hydrangea Annabelle tips: - Leave the faded dead heads on all winter and do not prune until Spring after the danger of frosts have passed. - Prune - cut back the dead stems to the lowest first or second pair of strong buds. This often means taking 2/3rds of dead stems away. Don’t worry, it seems harsh but you’ll thank me in the summer. - Support them - in the summer, if the heads become heavy, support them with half round metal plant supports. I always use these as mine would flip over in the first wind/heavy rainstorm. - Water them - Hydrangea Annabelle’s are thirsty and love water, we installed a drip feed irrigation system which waters at dusk and dawn.
