Gunwalloe is a very dramatic and historic cove in Cornwall. It’s also a Poldark filming location. We parked in the National Trust car park and walked from Gunwalloe to Poldhu Cove. We stopped for a warm drink and then headed back before it got dark. We were bombarded by seafoam on the way back which was an unusual experience. It felt we were in a snow storm. It’s a beautiful walk to do at any time of year. #Cornwall #Cornwalllife #Cornwallliving #Gunwalloe #Nationaltrust #UK Gunwalloe Cornwall, Poldark Filming Locations, Autumn Afternoon, Holiday 2024, Beautiful Autumn, The Way Back, National Trust, Snow Storm, Filming Locations

Discovering Cornwall: Gunwalloe Church Cove South West Coast Path, Cornish Coast, Sand Dunes, 14th Century, Stone Wall, Wonderful Places, Cornwall, The Church, The Locals

Gunwalloe Church Cove lies within the Cornwall Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) on the Lizard Peninsula. This stretch of the Cornish coast is full of history, and also it’s a great spot for spectacular winter wave watching. Right next to the sandy beach, the church of St Winwaloe (aptly also known as the Church […]

So whilst the sky was exploding last Friday evening, I turned my camera due North to catch the waves being lit up by the setting sun as they crashed against the slate. Apart from the fantastic effect it created, I liked it for its explanation as to how the slate fractures in this area. Having photographed so many versions of the broken slate, this was good see 'in action'. I wanted to get right down to the waters edge, but the waves were racing in and it was just too precarious, so I settled…

I spotted this attractive bit of kelp as I wandered along Gunwalloe beach with Mike Prince last Tuesday. It was a combination of elements that immediately appealed, seeing the complimentary colours as well as the lines in each subject interacting so beautifully. I used a 90mm Tilt and Shift lens to get in close and do my best to catch that magic. I ended up processing this on the darker side, wanting the lighter yellow edges of the seaweed to really show up. Thanks for a great morning of…

"Wrecking Season" - Gunwalloe, Cornwall | Although I have vi… | Flickr Gunwalloe Cornwall, Long Exposure, The Coast, Cornwall, A Couple, The Light, Lenses

Although I have visited the coast a couple of times in the last few weeks I hadn't really had time to get stuck into anything. With a few hours available last week, I had a long wander around my favourite local spot and tried a variety of lenses and filers on the gfx. I hadn't taken that many wider shots and as the light started to fade I made a few longer exposures using the 32-64gf lens. I loved every minute of it!
