The Franklin Gothic Font Family was designed by Morris Fuller Benton, the designer chief of ATP (American Type Founders) in 1904. The name “Gothic” was a contemporary term, that means sans-serif, according to the research. And “Franklin Gothic” is a tribute to the glorious polymath Benjamin Franklin, an of the founders of the US.
