A great deal of research confirms that living with companion animals - not just dogs, but also cats, birds, even reptiles and fish - offers a wealth of physical and emotional rewards, especially for those in difficult circumstances.

Children and dogs don't necessarily get along automatically. Like all cohabiting animals, they must learn to live together to be safe and happy. Teaching your children how to behave around animals, and dogs especially, can be the difference between long and happy days with your pets and a literal disaster.

Meeting your grandchild for the very first time, graduating from university with the unconditional support of your grandparents, or adopting a pet, are little snippets that prove family holds a special place in our hearts. Family is what some of us call our “safe place” and where we get to understand firsthand what caring for one another really means.

This family seems to always end up with some of my favourite family shots! A big portion of it has to do with the space their parents give them to be goofy and fun and trusting me to guide it where needed. Welcoming this slow Sunday! 💗
