This quotation said by Duncan brings up the theme of appearance vs. reality, or deception within Macbeth, and also is a sort of ironic foreshadowing as Duncan is later killed through a deception.

In the scholarly article Lying and Deception it focuses on the differences and similarities between lying and deception.The reason why I chose this picture to go along with this article is because as everybody knows that Pinocchios know gets longer if he lies or tries to deceive anybody. I think between the picture and the theme fits well together.

@Macro Mondays: When I saw this week's theme I immediately thought of chess pieces. The idea was to show the pawn as king. The picture is not photoshopped, it was taken with both pieces placed sideways on the same setting to create the illusion that the pawn casts the shadow of a king. A fun challenge :) HMM
