Great Lakes Farms is a picturesque setting to get delicious in season apples, peaches, strawberries and more, including baked goods. We overhauled their website and branding to rekindle the nostalgia of a visit to a family farm. In 2022, Great Lakes Farms launched a hard cider line and so we created an elegant label that remains approachable and fun.

Ciderbil is the delightful outcome of a collaboration between craft beer maker Erbil Algan and designer Ceren Burcu Turkan. This line of five cider beverages, featuring charming hand-drawn labels, combines captivating design with delectable taste. Erbil's journey from making beer out of curiosity to crafting cider and Ceren's graphic design expertise resulted in a complete brand identity for Ciderbil.

The core of this brief sought to reject typical staid category clichés — sweeping pruned orchards, impossibly perfect apples, tractors, and dusty farmhouses — whilst also swerving the punky aesthetic craft brands otherwise roll with. We crafted a brand around a simple concept: ‘dolce vita cider.’ This drove an elegant and timeless, understated aesthetic, beautifully classic in spirit and style.

We drew upon the strengths of older designs, reintroducing the stand-out oval label to highlight the bottle's silhouette, while stylistically simplifying and bringing together the graphics to create a stronger sum-of-the-parts presentation. The addition of the 'Aspall sun-motif' on the new neck label ensured the premium height of the bottle stood out on shelves.

Design: @hej_mona Cider refers to sparkling ciders that are fermented from different apple varieties. As the successor to Pet Nat's, this connection is also reflected in the bottle design.
