Mukaish/Badla is done by metal threads which usually come in all colours but in chikankari golden and silver are most preferred choices. The fabric is first washed and starched to make it easier to work with, then a pattern is traced on it. Small, closely-spaced stitches are made with a needle and metallic thread.
