I remember having ton of fun with my lead Cody Gramstad when we were trying to push the otherwise stern Zeswa clan into more jolly and relatable direction. Kin, a brewer of strange and most likely alcoholic potions was the perfect target for that. Then together with Henrik Sahlström our goal was to take Simon Lindwall´s preproduction notes and research and bring this clan to life. I've had the pleasure to have worked on Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora as a Prop / Environment artist and here are some of the many things I created! While my focus was mainly on creating hard surface assets for the RDA forces, I too was responsible for modelling and texturing a Sarentu totem as well as a Na'vi tent to be used in the Upper Plains. Rainforest clan was the first one that we have tackled, they are very close to the first movie, yet they still have their own identity. Nefeka and Kanat both rule their clan in their own way and we wanted to show their personal differences in the opposite color and structures of their clothing even though the materials are quite similar. special thanks to Simon Lindwall for the early art direction of the clans! Sarentu clan have a moving history and their role as travelers and storytellers has a melodramatic feel that was important for me to keep in the initial pitch concept.
