This Focaccia Muffuletta is inspired by the classic New Orleans Muffuletta sandwich that has cured meats, tangy olive spread, and mild cheese, all served on a fresh baked sesame crusted loaf. While it’s not “traditional”, this recipe uses an herbed focaccia loaf for the bread. Classic Muffuletta uses a round sesame seed loaf. This version still hits all of the same notes, and makes a great appetizer or a main course!
