Examples of shoes from Novgorod, Russia, of the 14th-15th centuries: 1,7/ high boot, 2,3,4/ laced shoe, 5/  boot for a child, 6/a shoe very much close to modern flats. The heels became popular since the 14th century, some shoes got them. All shoes were painted or embroidered; some examples of it are in the board. All shoes were produced from leather.
