1510-1520 Print made by: Amico Aspertini. Three musician soldiers, the one at the right plays a flute. c.1510-20. Drypoint. Aspertini's monogram is inscribed on the stone at the bottom but the meaning of the numbers 147 that appear on the other stone is not known. Three musician soldiers in the costume of Swiss or German lansquenet, a theme that was very popular during the early years of the sixteenth century. Here, the figures are set against a Venetian lagoon.
