Charging Eagle - born 1829 to Mandan Chief Four Bears & Brown Woman (Mandan) @ Fort Clark. He spent his 1st 8 years growing up in the Ft. Clark village. Charging Eagle's parents died in the 1837 Small-pox Epidemic. In 1898, Charging Eagle, Poor Wolf & Wounded Face visited Washington, D.C. to delegate compensation for lands taken during the building of the railroad through the reservation. In his remembrance, many landmarks bear his name.
