One of the most famous landmarks in London is the Tower Bridge. Tower Bridge is a combined bascule and suspension bridge which crosses the River Thames. It is close to the Tower of London, from which it takes its name.
This summer, the Tower 2014 installation, conceived by artist Paul Cummins and designer Tom Piper, will commemorate each and every British or Colonial fatality from World War 1 by planting 246 red ceramic poppies in a flowing sea around the tower.
Ravens, Tower of London. The presence of the ravens is traditionally believed to protect the Crown and the Tower; a superstition holds that "If the Tower of London ravens are lost or fly away, the Crown will fall and Britain with it.
