1930s // Russell Vernon Hunter and Chapman of the Laboratory of Anthropology in Santa Fe developed an idea to create a portfolio of Navajo Blankets spanning the years 1840-1910 and drawn from the Laboratory's collections. Chapman selected the weavings and Louie Ewing reproduced the designs through the medium of serigraph for the Federal Art Project. The Navajo blanket designs were to be shared in museums, public buildings, libraries, and schools
