Cupid and Psyche. Cupid is also called Eros. Psyche was born a mortal, but her beauty was too dangerous and she was the envy of Venus who tried to destroy her. The gods eventually take pity on her plights and grant her immortality. She marries Cupid and they have a daughter, called Voluptas (Hedone in Greek mythology)

Breathtaking...The Pietà (1498–1499) is a masterpiece of Renaissance sculpture by Michelangelo Buonarroti, housed in St. Peter's Basilica in Vatican City. It is the only piece Michelangelo ever signed (See History after completion). This famous work of art depicts the body of Jesus on the lap of his mother Mary after the Crucifixion.
