Homemade silver cleaner: 1) 1 cup of boiling water, 2) 1 tablespoon baking soda, 3) 1 tablespoon white salt, 4) 1/2 cup white vinegar, 5) 1 sheet of tinfoil, shiny side up in bottom of bowl. Mix salt & soda on foil. Add vinegar slowly till all dissolved. Add H2O, and let silver sit on foil. When done, buff with microfiber cloth.
Cleaning sterling silver jewelry: Line a plastic or glass container with aluminum foil. Place silver jewelry on the foil making sure each piece touches the foil. Sprinkle baking 1T soda and 1T salt over and cover with 1c boiling water. Use a spoon to swirl the jewelry around until it is untarnished. (I did this and was amazed how fast it worked and how clean my sterling was!)
