Aida Ethiopian Princess: Image depiction from Verdi famous opera. The opera tells the love story of Aida, an Ethiopian princess enslaved in Egypt, and Radames, an Egyptian military, commander of the army that occupied Aida’s homeland. Amonasro, Aida’s father, rejects the relationship and demands revenge. Amneris, Pharaoh’s daughter, is against it too because she also loves Radames. Verdi composed this work for the Suez Canal opening, and it was premiered in 1871 at El Cairo.
