Leyland Cypress - great privacy tree, grows 3 - 5 feet a year, feathery soft needle texture, drought tolerant, can grow well in most well-drained soils, zones 6 - 10, evergreen, full or part sun, spread is 1/4 of the height, grows in a uniform, symmetrical shape but can be pruned to any shape, prune early and often, so they don't get too big, trim sides in July, when it's reached the height you want, prune the leader branch a few inches to stop upward growth, space 6 ' apart
