Pride and Prejudice 2005 Mr. Darcy declares his love for Elizabeth Bennett, going against his prejudice toward the inferiority of her birth and connections. He just can't control his impulses any longer. This scene will appear in chapter 34 of the novel albeit without the rain, and it takes place in Mrs. Collins' cottage. This setting, however, with the rain in the background makes the scene more romantic and more poetic. The copious rain effectively symbolizes the mood of the characters.
