An Edwardian white gold, pearl and diamond brooch, circa 1905. Of openwork design composed of a central single pearl surrounded by a floral motif set throughout with rose-cut diamonds, set within a pearl and rose-cut diamond border. Year 1905 was also the annus mirabilis of Albert Enstein, publishing papers that lay the foundations for quantum physics, introduced the special theory of relativity, explained Brownian motion and proved the existence of atoms.
