Mary Tudor with that traitorous brute of a Spaniard, Phillip. Poor Mary! She deserved so much better than what she got. The Fates dealt her a rather crappy hand.

I really enjoyed this book. I've read it a couple of times now. I like the presentation of Elizabeth and Mary's lives. Definitely a good read for those of you undecided who you prefer. This confirmed my view that Elizabeth dealt with the Crazy Mary situation as well as she could. No, not Crazy Mary. Unwise Mary. Rash Mary.

: 25 June 1533: The Death of Mary Tudor at the age of 37, the younger sister of King Henry VIII and queen consort of France through her marriage to Louis XII. She was first buried at the abbey at Bury St Edmunds in Suffolk, but later her body was moved to nearby St Mary's Church, when the abbey was destroyed during the Dissolution of the Monasteries
