Hawfinch of the UK and Ireland The Hawfinch is a beautiful bulky headed bird with a massive, bull beak. It is the largest of the finches in the UK and Ireland. Their diet includes berries, seeds, nuts, insects and fruit stones which they crack open using their massive beaks. The Hawfinch's powerful bill can exert pressure of 150lb per square inch.
