Late 14th century/ early 15th century Gold ring, the bezel in the form of a spur with a twelve-pointed revolving rowel, the hoop decorated with scrollwork and niello and terminating in dragon's heads at the shoulders. This ring is part of a collection of 'Veneto-Byzantine' jewellery found in 1840 in the Castle of Chalcis on the Greek island of Euboea (known as Negroponte by the Venetians).
Gold Rings from Gamlebyen, all from the 13th and 14th centuries. The ring at the top left has inlaid garnet, while the one at the bottom right has a sapphire. The two others have inlaid rock crystal and fine Gothic decorative leaf. The ring at the bottom left is a feasting ring.
