If my students know their vocabulary words well, they notice them while reading independently. I use Word Nerd bookmarks to give my kiddos a point of extra credit for every word they find. It’s easy to organize them. I put the point in the grade book and put the bookmark into a file folder for that class period. Does anyone else do something like this? . .
