Empathy is the ability to understand and share the feelings of another. It is the experience of understanding another person's condition from their perspective. As a sensitive person, I view empathy and sensitivity as the glue that holds together my relationships. This sensitivity can be viewed as a strength rather than a weakness.
“Throughout life, we get clues that remind us of the direction we are supposed to be headed if you stay focused, then you learn your lessons.” dr. Elisabeth Kubler-Ross (The Wheel of Life, 1997) www.EKRFoundation.org
Elizabeth Kubler Ross with Mother Theresa. I love this powerful quote. These are words to live by: It is not the end of the physical body that should worry us. Rather, our concern must be to live while we're alive - to release our inner selves from the spiritual death that comes with living behind a facade designed to conform to external definitions of who and what we are. No person has the right to condemn you on how you repair your heart or how long you choose to grieve, because no one knows how much your hurting. Recovering takes time & everyone heals at his or her own pace.
