During Protest Over Apprehension of Spanish Americans in Denver Bus Bombing Case.  The Chicano Movement challenged the negative stereotypes of Mexicans as they were portrayed in mass media and sought to validate Mexican American ethnicity and culture through visual and literacy art. The Chicano Movement also addressed what it perceived to be discrimination in the public school system by staging walkouts in East Los Angeles and Denver. 1972
