THEAKSTON'S OLD PECULIER - is a beautiful, yet very simple beer, brewed using a very generous blend of finest pale, crystal and roasted barley with two bitter hops combined with the majestic and noble ‘Fuggle’ hop to produce a beer of awesome full-bodied flavour with subtle cherry and rich fruit overtones. It tastes superb when accompanied by rich stews, strong cheeses and sweet puddings.

The beer that has won more awards nationally than any other, and is Madonna's favourite tipple. A classic English pale ale with a zesty, fruity, refreshing bitterness. Lager drinkers who think they don't like "ale" should be prescribed this - they'd never look back. 4.1% ABV, Timothy Taylor, Yorkshire Supermarkets and off-licences nationwide

Probably one of the finest brown ales ever made and a firm favourite of mine. Widely available at Sinclairs in Manchester and the Queen's Head in Stockport. Though their cask conditioned OBB bitter is gorgeous, the Tadcaster brewery's bottle conditioned ales are something special. (Courtesy of the Samuel Smith's Brewery website).

*Oatmeal Stout*. Samuel Smith, The Old Brewery - Tadcaster, North Yorkshire, England. "Discovered this for Christmas a couple years ago, and never realized a beer could have such a velvety smooth mouth feel." Brewery description, This brew pours a thick opaque black, with a thick, creamy tan head. Foam you can stick your finger in, and the hole stays there... The taste is exceptional...A malty oat flavor, with not a lot of carbonation for a slight bitter sensation lingering on your tongue.
