Rubaya, North Kivu, Masisi Region, D.R.Congo. Democratic Republic of Congo, North Kivu. A miner works inside a tunnel of the mine at Mudere: the minerals, coltan and manganite, are extracted by hand, using only using pickaxes and shovels. Every year hundreds people die inside these holes.
